When we think of genomics, we often think about breakthroughs in science and medicine. But who gets to benefit from those breakthroughs? And how do we ensure that populations represented in research reflect the diversity of humanity itself?

In this episode, we are in conversation with STIAS Fellow Sandra Soo-Jin Lee, who is the Chief of the Division of Ethics and Professor of Medical Humanities and Ethics at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she researches and writes on the ethics of genomics and emerging biotechnologies, the role of race in biomedical research, and how societies govern scientific practice.
