Timothy C. Guetterman, PhD, is an applied research methodologist, specialized in research design and mixed methods research. Tim is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan and faculty in the Mixed Methods Program. His methodological interest is to advance rigorous methods of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research, particularly strategies for intersecting and integrating qualitative and quantitative research. He also conducts health services and educational. research with a focus on technology and artificial intelligence. Tim has also focused on teaching, learning, and mixed methods research methods capacity building. He has extensive professional experience conducting program evaluation. His research and evaluation work has been grant-funded by US federal entities and foundations. He serves as Co-Editor in Chief for the Journal of Mixed Methods Research. He co-authored the sixth and seventh editions of Educational Research: Planning, Conducting, and Evaluating Quantitative and Qualitative Research. He is a past-president of the Mixed Methods International Research Association.
