Thando Njovane

Thando Njovane obtained her PhD in English under the supervision of Dr Sue Marais at Rhodes University. She teaches literature and is a primary investigator and a member of the management board of the African Studies Centre at Rhodes.

She is a research associate with the NRF-SARChI Chair in Sustainable Rural Futures at the same university. She has published in the areas of trauma and memory studies, political philosophy, and higher education. 

Having previously been an Andrew Mellon Early Career Scholar, Njovane is now a STIAS  Iso Lomso Fellow working on her first monograph on Traumatic Intimacies.
