The Center on Forced Displacement at Boston University, STIAS and Schooner Foundation are pleased to announce the second annual workshop on African Migration Corridors, focusing on the intersection of technology, community support and healthcare.
Titled, African Migration Corridors: Emerging Technologies, Community Support and Health Systems, the workshop on Thursday, 11 June 2026, brings together academics, policy experts and individuals with lived experiences, in discussion about migration challenges, issues and possible solutions.
Forcibly displaced persons in Africa migrate not only north to the EU, but also west, east, and south in the continent in complex journeys. These journeys are shaped by access to technology, engagement with the community and availability or denial of healthcare services. Despite their significance, emerging technologies, community support and health systems along these corridors remain largely unexplored despite their significant impacts on human dignity and well-being.
The workshop is open to the public from 09:00 until 13:00. The afternoon session is closed.
