From the beginning, STIAS has been driven by a mission to serve as an influential hub for Africa’s long-term advancement. This dedication has won us recognition across the globe. By facilitating collaboration between today's leading thinkers—including Nobel laureates—and the African researchers of tomorrow, we are fostering a unique community of knowledge. By 2026, this thriving programme had already welcomed over 860 research fellows.
Your contribution supports a programme that is both expanding and financially stable. Today, we support a consistent cohort of approximately 80 fellows per year for residency periods of up to ten months. The integrity of this selection process is overseen by the STIAS Director, assisted by an Academic Advisory Board and international experts.
