Personal Assistant to the Director & Administrative Officer

Magda is the anchor person in the Office of the Director, providing personal and administrative assistance and operational aspects at STIAS. Her responsibilities include scheduling and managing appointments and meetings, as well as travel and logistical arrangements for the Directorate, STIAS Board Members, Academic Advisory Committee members and other members of the Institute’s Advisory structure. The role also includes liaising with relevant bodies to ensure that legal/procedural matters and relevant information about STIAS is being updated regularly. She is also the line manager for STIAS support staff.

Before joining STIAS in 2021, Magda worked for close to 20 years as a Personal Assistant in the Department of Political Science at Stellenbosch University. She carries with her a rich experience of supporting the administration of universities and research institutions in South Africa.
