STIAS is pleased to announce its sixth cohort of Iso Lomso fellows and visiting scholars for applications submitted during its last call.

Women are shifting the spatial norms, challenging the long-established masculine character and exposing its limits, said Asanda Benya of the Department of Sociology at the University of Cape Town.

"Extractivism is not a mode of production that starts at the mine gate and ends with resources in the North. It enters homes, kitchens, wombs, rivers, lungs and ‘futures’."
