Achille Melingui is Professor of Automatic Control and Robotics at the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon. At the core of his scientific work is research in modelling and control of continuum, soft, and hyper-redundant robotic systems, along with intelligent and learning-based control methods. He has contributed expertise to numerous international research projects, spanning industrial robotics, medical and assistive robotics, smart transportation, and sustainable agriculture. His findings have appeared in leading journals and been presented at robotics conferences.
Melingui obtained his PhD in Automatic Control and Industrial Computing from the University of Lille, France, and his habilitation (HDR) in Robotics and Production Engineering at the same university. He currently leads the Robotics and Vision Laboratory and serves as Head of the Centre for Experimentation and Production at the National Advanced School of Engineering of Yaoundé.
 He is an Iso Lomso Fellow and has spent time at the Hamburg Institute for Advanced Study, Germany.
